Please note that I am sending you this email on behalf of your case officer Frances Wu
Dear ,
Under the Skilled Migrant Policy, principal applicants will be assessed against:
i health, character and English language requirements; and
ii employability and capacity building requirements; and
iii any criteria set from time to time by the Minister of Immigration which was the basis for the selection from the pool (SM3.15.1); and
iv settlement and contribution requirements.
If applicants are able to claim points for at least one of the following criteria applicants will be assessed by the NZIS as having demonstrated the ability to successfully settle in, and contribute to, New Zealand, points for an offer of skilled employment in New Zealand or current skilled employment in New Zealand for less than 12 months or for 12 months or more; or points for full time study for at least two years in New Zealand that has resulted in the award of Doctorate or Master degree or a qualification in an identified future growth area or relevant to an occupation in an absolute skills shortage area.
As you do not have points for any of the above factors, you will be further assessed to determine whether you can otherwise demonstrate an ability to successfully settle and contribute or can realise their potential to successfully settle in and contribute to New Zealand. This assessment will be based on:Information obtained during a formal interview with you and other family members included in your application; andAll other information contained in your application for residence; andAny further verification of your application (including information provided at interview). That assessment will include consideration of the following factors:
- your employment prospects; and
- your familiarity with New Zealand and preparedness for settlement and, where relevant, the familiarity and preparedness of your partner and dependent children included in your application; and
- your linkages and support in New Zealand through networks and family.
For the above reasons, we need to arrange an interview with you. We have scheduled an appointment to speak to you by phone at 14:00 pm (Beijing time) on 24 April, 2008. Please provide the telephone number that is available for us to ring you (mobile phone number is not acceptable). It would assist us if you could be available when we call at this time. As interviews are arranged with a large group of applicants, the appointment time is not changeable unless the applicant has very special reasons. The request of changing the interview time may result in this appointment been put into the next round of interviews.
Enclosed is also a questionnaire for you to complete.
It would assist our assessment if you can complete the enclosed questionnaire and return with your email confirming whether you are able to attend the scheduled interview by 4:00 pm (Beijing Time) 17 April, 2008. Please be advised that the interview will be cancelled automatically without further notice if no confirmation and completed questionnaire have been received before the interview.
Thank you and kind regards
France Wu
